preparation for writing, brainstorming with categories, flow of ideas, quality of ideas
Teach your learners how to generate a wide range of ideas around a topic. Brainstorming in categories builds learner confidence as students prepare to write. Students can then draw from these ideas to plan and compose a piece of writing more easily.
Claire was welcomed to the Onehunga branch of Martin Hautus by the Directors Arthur and Maretta Solomon. They outlined the main courses and activities available to students. Arthur Solomon says the secret to their success is their holistic approach to education which is underpinned by 4 pillars: Spiritual Values, Academic Excellence, Cultural Appreciation and Leadership.
Visit their website where you will discover that the Martin Hautus Pacific People’s Learning Institute:
...acknowledges the importance of Pacific and Maori Learners participating in post-compulsory level education providing them with necessary and transferable skills and knowledge, as well as developing appropriate attitudes in preparation for employment and their important contribution to New Zealand society both economically and socially.
Empowering Pacific and Maori through education and training.
Martin Hautus staff and students are also particularly proud of the Brother Priscillian Performing Arts Centre opened on the 21 May this year.
Its role is to both serve the wider community as well as providing a place for the arts and cultural expressions of music and dance as taught in the institute’s performing arts courses.
