Selecting an appropriate assessment provides the best opportunity for learners to demonstrate their writing.
When you’re selecting an appropriate assessment for your learners there are a few points you should consider.

  • Select a pair of tasks that match your learners’ interests.

A range of assessment tasks has been provided so that you are able to choose the context and level that best matches your learners’ interests. Make sure that you find the most suitable fit.

  • Select a pair of tasks that match your learners’ purpose for writing.

The assessment tasks will provide a better opportunity for your learners to demonstrate their knowledge and skills if they are relevant to kinds of writing demands they encounter. Learners’ purposes for writing is also wide ranging. The assessment tasks cover a range of functional purposes, and have been trialled with a wide group of adult learners.
