Key words:

vocation, profile, literacy demands, numeracy demands.

The literacy and numeracy team at UCOL has worked with tutors in each Level 1-3 vocational course to develop profiles.

The profiles are based on a model from Workbase. Each profile describes the reading, writing, speaking and listening, and numeracy demands of the occupation. Learners can look at the profiles to find out the skills they will need to have or acquire to be successful in that vocation.

The copyright of the profiles remains with Universal College of Learning, Palmerston North. The profiles may be used for appropriate educational purposes.
